The hired hands

They roped the boys up.

Their arms were tightly lashed together behind their backs.  Their wrists were crossed and tied.  Ropes circled their torsos, forcing their forearms into their spines and cutting into the muscle of their upper arms.

A bandanna blindfolded  them.  One was shoved into their mouths, while a third between their teeth and around their heads gagged them.

They marched them to the truck, dumped them into the carry, and tied their ankles together.
The covered the back with a tight tarp and drove for hours through the woods, the bound men bumping into each other as the carry became a sweat box.

The pulled Jimmy, the owner's son and the youngest out first, checked his ropes for tightness.  He was thrown over one of their kidnapper's shoulders and dumped
into the old cabin.

Dumping them on their bellies they bound their thighs, knees and calves, and, bending their legs backs bound their tied feet to their necks.

Their they lay, hognecked, soaked with sweat,
they helplessly listened...
